Bertie J. Howard, 59, RR 2, Covington, died at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, November 24, at her home.
Born October 31, 1924 in East Lynn, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lee and Rebecca McKinley Carpenter. On February 24, 1945 she married Everett V. Howard, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Everett Howard Jr., at home; and Larry Howard of Newport; three daughters, Mrs. Arlene Geiger of Crawfordsville, Miss Beverly Howard of Danville, Illinois, and Mrs. Carolyn Thompson of Covington; a brother, Walter Carpenter of Potomac, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Pettice of Hoopeston, Illinois; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and four brothers.
Services were conducted Sunday at Lanham-Wolfe Funeral Home in Potomac with Dale Baldwin officiating. Burial was in East Lynn Cemetery. -s-
